About Race for the Cure®
Race for the Cure® is Europe’s biggest sporting event for women’s health. It helps breast cancer organisations and hospitals to collect funds and raise awareness. With 500,000 new diagnoses and 130,000 people who die of breast cancer every year in Europe, these funds are of vital importance. Now more than ever.
3K walk or 5K run
Each Race for the Cure® brings together survivors, family and friends for a 3K walk or 5K run. Survivors celebrate their victory over breast cancer, participants support their loved ones affected by the disease and commemorate loved ones who passed away.
For 2020, Think Pink Europe announced 30 Races for the Cure with 300,000 participants in 22 countries in Europe. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, big sporting events are being postponed or cancelled. Just at a time when breast cancer patients and survivors are vulnerable and need our support the most.
Stay safe, stay connected
The corona crisis has inspired us to join forces and take Race for the Cure® to the next level: we invite everyone in Europe to participate in the digital Race for the Cure®. Register your own 3K walk or 5K run in your neighbourhood, village or city, together with friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and connect to thousands of people all over Europe.
Register your team and prepare for your 3K walk or 5K run. You are free to go wherever your feet take you, keeping in mind the corona guidelines that apply in your country or region. You can even run indoors on a treadmill or in the gym, as long as you join us all over Europe during the last weekend of September.
Create a big pink online buzz! Share your workouts, pink outfits, preparations, get-togethers on social media, use our hashtag #RFTC2020 and inspire other people to participate. Keep moving, share the fun and support women’s health care in Europe!
Your support is vital
At any moment, you can add extra people to your team or invite your contacts to make a donation to your team directly. The profits of the registrations and donations go to the participating organisations, hospitals or patient support groups that are dedicated to help breast cancer patients.
Think Pink Europe is the umbrella organisation that connects breast cancer organisations, clinics and patient support groups all over Europe. We aim at improving and accelerating the exchange of information and best practices on health care and research. We focus on reducing disparities to access health care and closing the health care gap between European countries.
Breast cancer survival rates differ up to 30%, depending on where you live in Europe: this is unacceptable.
